What is a C.O.? |

C.O. stands for central office and
refers to the dial tone line that is installed
by your service provider. The line is normally
terminated on a network interface so it can
be segregated from the customer owned phone
equipment. Programming such as, line hunting,
call waiting, 3 way calling, call forwarding,
etc is done by your service provider. (Ma Bell) . |

A “Station” or “Extension” is assigned
to a telephone set and used by your system
to communicate with other stations or C.O.
lines (for outside calling). Programming
for a station is stored in your phone system. |

How do I CLEAR LINES that show busy but
no one is on them? |

Because the HOLD key is also used
for transfer function, if a call is mishandled
the system will tie two lines together. To
release the lines, touch one of the line keys.
